  • cf. roachmap from NYC
  •
  •
  • Place annotation/API
  • See Google docs here for this project's current status and lessons learned:
  • Homeless services / social
  • USDA farmers market data
  • USDA Calorie Information:

  • Ideas from seattle
  • Specific neighborhoods, hyperlocal blogging
  • mobile damage assessment
  • transit apps
  • Idea for architecture excercise - Charity Registry:
  • A la carte donation interface for local shelters/food banks/charities
  • Orgs would sign up for this service, and choose items that they are in need of from an interface fed by the upcoming Amazon, Walmart, or PeaPod APIs
  • Similar to the wedding registry model - users then have an easy way to find charities they want to support and purchase items that they need directly.  This way charities can cut down on the amount of donated items they're receiving that they don't need.
  • Each week, all the donations are shipped from the service to the org that needs them.
  • Wikipedia Geocoding gadget
  • Wikimedia DC outreach & increase diversity:
  • Workshops at local libraries across the city, opportunities for people to add info about their neighborhoods, and variety of topics.
